Far South Coast Dairy Development Group

Role/Purpose

The Far South Coast Dairy Development Group (FSC DDG) provides support for dairy farmers in the far south coast region. Key roles are coordination of extension activities and delivery of state wide projects in partnership with other service providers including Bega Cheese, I&I NSW, agribusiness and consultants.

The group also sources and administers funding for local projects and for the delivery of regional components of state and national projects.
 

Geographic area

The FSC DDG covers the dairying areas in Eurobodalla and Bega Valley Shires on the NSW south coast.
 

Activities

Activities in the current year have included energy audit discussion groups, business breakfast for local businesses on available assistance programs, silage and summer cropping update and support for the review tour for Exceptional Circumstances drought assistance.

Previous activities include a dairy farmers’ guide to Managing Climate Risk Course, Next Generation dinner, pasture field days, discussion groups, Bega EMS project celebration and hosting the Dairy NSW regional meeting.
